I visited KKatie’s Burger Bar on Main Street in Hyannis Massachusetts, after being prompted to go there by my boyfriend. He had heard an ad for it on the radio and checked out the menu. Now I am always down for a good burger, and basically any place that has fried mozzarella; this place checked off both of those boxes. So we decided to head there for dinner. When first arriving there it has a clean pub vibe, with a sizeable bar and many advertisements for alcoholic beverages. Not being a drinker, it was of little regard for us. We were here for the food! Looking at the menu I could feel my mouth watering, just looking at the appetizers. In fact, I had three appetizers in mind that all sounded absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough money or room in our stomachs to eat all three of the appetizers, so we decided on the Fresh Fried Mozzarella. The fried mozzarella was displayed nicely on a little bed of lettuce and came with four wedges and marinara sauce with grated cheese over both the fried mozzarella and marinara sauce. At this point, I was more than ready to dive in, and even though they were hot the gooey cheese was calling to me. These wedges were 100% on my top 5 of fried mozzarella I have had in my life. The cheese was gooey and the breading had a good flavor on it. They definitely advertised them correctly, because they tasted fresh instead of the greasy feel you sometimes get from fried mozzarella. The marinara itself had a wonderful tomato flavor.

For our entrees, we both chose a burger, even though they do offer other kinds of sandwiches, like a buffalo chicken sandwich, and buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches. I got the Hell burger without the lettuce because I have a predisposition for spicy foods. The name Hell burger did make me a little nervous as to how spicy it was going to be. I like spicy food, but not really burn your face off hot. However, once it arrived, it looked very unassuming with the name hell burger. I could see some of the red hell sauce, on the bun and couldn’t stop myself from trying it. The hell sauce itself was a kind of hot sauce, that was spicy but definitely not burn your mouth off hot. The burger itself was wonderful and perfectly cooked for what I had ordered. The hot sauce didn’t overpower the rest of the burger by any means, but I wouldn’t say I would have that particular burger again (I’m not the biggest fan of hot sauce. Ironic, I know). The fries had a nice soft inside and a little bit of a crunch on the outside. My favorite kind of fries, I might add.

Overall the burger was delectable, even if it wasn’t to my preference and the whole vibe of the place was nice as well. I would definitely recommend going there if you are on Main Street. I know I myself will be going back to try more of those appetizers and maybe the Good Morning Burger.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Hey everyone! My name is Jillian DiLauro and I love food! I am a fiend for Italian cuisine and sweet things, even though I am what most people describe as a picky eater. Even so, food has always been a big part of my life; from learning to cook from my mom and from watching the cooking shows she always has on the television.
