Tea Lovers rejoice, I have found the place for you! Located near Bella Verona and the Hawthorne Hotel, Jolie Tea Company lives up to its name. As soon as you walk in you are overwhelmed with all the different loose-leaf teas you can imagine and are greeted by very nice employees. The walls are lined with different kinds of teas for you to make your own varieties. Or if you don’t quite know what you want out of a tea or know how to make your own, they have a lovely menu, sectioned by different broad genres of tea, such as white teas, green teas, black teas, and oolong teas. The number of options can be a little overwhelming, so I went with a tea I know and love; Pomegranate Green Tea. I discovered pomegranate green tea a few years back and I have been obsessed ever since. It has the best of both worlds, pomegranate, and green tea and both flavors mix into one beautiful floral and sweet drink. They have an option for you to sit down and eat or take it to go. We decided to sit and enjoy a nice cup of tea. Do you know what goes with a cup of tea? Pastries! And boy do they have that. In a well-stocked case, they have 10 or more varieties of macarons, and they also have little jars containing madeleines, scones, cookies and more. I wouldn’t be me without having to try some pastries as well. I decided to try the madeleines and lemon scone; my boyfriend got a box of macarons with a few for me to try as well. (Wedding Almond, Birthday Cake and Earl grey. It’s a tea shop, I had to try a tea-flavored macaron!)
After satiating the need for pastries, we sat down in their cute seating area and waiting for the tea to finish seeping. You can feel the care they put into making you the perfect cup of tea each time. In the meantime, I decided to try one of the Madeline. Within one bite I knew I needed to get more. The outside has the ever so slightest crisp and the inside is soft and light. The vanilla reaches through each bite you take and makes you want more. They also had a lemon Madeline as well as chocolate, both of which I tried. Each tasted delectable but could not compare to the original vanilla Madeline that won my heart. The lemon scone I purchased was also very good. It had a good lemon flavor that didn’t overwhelm, and the scone itself was a perfect combination between crumbly and not too dry. The Earl Grey macaron had a floral earl grey flavor, that definitely gives you a punch of its namesake flavor. The Birthday Cake macaron was phenomenal and had a wonderful vanilla cake batter flavor. Honestly, I wish I had more of them. Lastly was the Wedding Almond; this macaron had such a beautiful almond flavor, that enveloped my taste buds. It is for sure something to try. I was very impressed with everything in the store including the teapots, cups and prepackaged teas they had on display. (I may have purchased a mug because of how cute it was.)
However, not long after sitting down, the tea was ready to be consumed. They offer several different kinds of sweeteners, such as sugar in the raw, white cane sugar, and artificial sweeteners. Once I had it sweetened to my liking, I finally got to drink the tea. The flavor is light and floral, as the tea also had a little rose in it too. The tea tasted undeniably wonderful and had a beautiful light pomegranate note.

Overall, I just simply adored the environment in Jolie Tea Company, as well as their pastries and tea. I only wish I had more time to try more variety of tea. So if you are a tea lover like me, I would highly recommend the Jolie Tea Company.
