Although new to Orleans, Massachusetts, The Rail is a must visit breakfast and lunch restaurant. From the atmosphere to the friendly staff to the absolutely phenomenal dishes, the Rail has it all.

When you enter The Rail you can see the decor is very Cape Cod chic, and they have a nice patio out front for outdoor dining. It is a very nice atmosphere, but what really sets the whole place apart is the delicious food they are putting out. So far I have tried three different dishes off their menu and each time they find new and creative ways to make the dishes we know and love, even more enticing. In fact, I even know people who are trying to work their way through the whole menu.

This was the first dish that I got. The Classic Belgian Waffle. Let me preface that I am not the biggest fan of syrup, but this waffle might change that. The waffle itself was light and fluffy, but the syrup on it had a nice balance in flavor that didn't present itself as overly sweet. I also got a side of home fries.

The home fries are deliciously seasoned, and have a really good texture. The portion size of the meal too is perfect. You don't leave fully overly stuffed, but you also don't leave feeling hungry.

The next dish I ended up trying was the Corned beef hash and eggs. Let me just say, it was phenomenal. The corned beef had a dressing on it that just elevated the dish in a way that you don't see normally. I couldn't stop eating that dish it was that good.

Last but not least, I tried the cheeseburger. This one is not pictured. (Sorry ate it too quick) This cheeseburger is definitely in my top 5 best burgers I have had in my life. The burger itself is juicy and the bread is perfectly balanced to the burger. What really knocks it out of the park, is again the sauce. Their burger sauce is so good, I don't even have words to describe it. I have even taken to dipping the fries (which are equally good) into the leftover sauce and let me tell you, there is never enough.

The Rail really came out swinging from its opening day, and I cannot recommend it enough. Go check it out at 222 Main St. Orleans, Ma.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Hey everyone! My name is Jillian DiLauro and I love food! I am a fiend for Italian cuisine and sweet things, even though I am what most people describe as a picky eater. Even so, food has always been a big part of my life; from learning to cook from my mom and from watching the cooking shows she always has on the television.

Let the posts
