Makes about 4 servings

Cook Time: About an Hour, to an hour and fifteen

Ingredients

  • 45 oz jar of Ragu flavored with meat

  • 1 Lb of Hamburg

  • 1 Box of lasagna noodles (16 oz)

  • ½ tsp of salt

  • 1 tsp of garlic powder

  • 2 cups of mozzarella cheese shredded

  • 1 15oz whole milk ricotta cheese

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp of parmesan cheese for the top.

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

2. Bring a pot of water to boil on high.

3. While the water is being brought to a boil, brown the pound of Hamburg in a separate pan, for about 5-10 minutes on medium-high heat.

4. By now the water is boiling, so place the lasagna noodles in a pot big enough to hold the noodles carefully and cook until al dente.

5. Drain the grease from the meat and turn the heat to low or medium-low and pour the container of sauce and spices into the meat pot. Leave it to simmer until ready to assemble.

6. In a separate bowl, combine the mozzarella, ricotta, and egg together. Stir until it is a smooth mixture.

7. Drain the noodles and let them cool so you are able to pick them up and get a 9×12 oven-safe pan ready for lasagna assembly.

8. Put a thin layer of the sauce mixture on the bottom of the pan so the noodles don’t stick to the pan.

9. Place a layer of noodles lengthwise in the pan, followed by about a tablespoon of the cheese mixture periodically on the noodles. It should be about 9-12 tablespoons per layer.

10. Then place a layer of sauce on top of the noodle and cheese mixture.

11. Place another layer of noodles in the opposite direction. (It’s okay to break the noodles to make them fit)

12. Then repeat the layers until you reach the top of the pan. (About 4 Layers) (Most likely you will have some extra noodles, so you can enjoy a little snack before the entrée like I used to do every time my mom made it.)

13. Add some pepper, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese to the top.

14. Then place it in the oven for 30-45 minutes and keep an eye on it.

15. When it is ready, take it out of the oven and enjoy.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Hey everyone! My name is Jillian DiLauro and I love food! I am a fiend for Italian cuisine and sweet things, even though I am what most people describe as a picky eater. Even so, food has always been a big part of my life; from learning to cook from my mom and from watching the cooking shows she always has on the television.

Let the posts
